What do good readers do when they come to a word they don't understand or if they read and it doesn't make sense?
- Re-read.
- Read on.
- Use context and guess the meaning.
- Look for a part in the word you already know.
- Create a picture in your mind.
- Ask questions.
The child must learn to take the initiative, make some links, and work at a difficulty.
